The purse story
Historians say that the history of the purse started with the invention of the pocket. First pockets appeared in the 17th century changing its place from the shorts to the jeans.
Before its invention the coins were carried in the bags fixed on the belt of men and under the skirt among women. After the appearance of pockets men appreciated it a lot and women started to develop this purse line. They were carrying the little bags destined for the little objects keeping. And at that time the purses were already made of different materials and had different forms and were decorated.
In the 17th century women started to wear the handbags decorated with the embroidery, glass beads and precious stones. The fashion changed and they were not hidden any more but were shown.
In the 18th century purses were especially famous and rich ladies were competing with each other in the luxury of the purses. In the beginning of 20th century the long and narrow skirts became famous that didn't have space for the pockets and the size of the purses started to increase. Women started to buy purses with the long thongs and thongs made in the form of chains.
There is the museum of purses in Tokyo that has more than 3000 models brought here from all parts of the world. The visitors of the museum can see all kinds of handbags from the little pockets to the modern purses.
Women couldn't put limits and use only pockets. Thanks God!
