The hat story
Hat was considered to be the most mystical accessory and there were always a lot of legends connected with it. At first it was considered to be the result of the magician's activity. Later the wide-brimmed hat with the pointed top became the accessory of witches that were burnt together with the innocent hats. Later the same hats became the attributes of the astronomers. The hat was always considered to be the method of finding the contact with the space.
The Ancient Greeks were always imaged without any hats. This can be explained not only by the mild and hot climate but also by the ethnic traditions of that epoch. In English tradition hats were used only by the necessity.
The period of the early medieval times gives the great variety of hats for women. Women were hiding their heads under the kerchiefs and hoods that sometimes covered the head and the chins.
The hats had different forms from wide-brimmed to the small and compact hats. They were decorated with everything women could find from fresh fruits to veils and precious stones.
The time passed and the hats changed a lot taking the most extraordinary forms and sizes. Every epoch gave something for hats. Nowadays women have the possibility to choose from the great variety of hats from the caps to sombreros as the hat is not only the great accessory but also the fine protection from the sun.
